ENVIRONMENT & ENERGY COMMUNITY OUTREACH CENTER
We partnered with EDGE Studio architects and PVE Engineers to develop the Environment and Energy Community Outreach (EECO) Center for the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) of Pittsburgh. On a brownfield site of an abandoned gas station, the new building is equipped with energy efficient heating and cooling systems, solar thermal and solar electric (PV) panels, permeable pavement parking lot, and other green features. These features expose residents to technologies that may lead to green employment opportunities and to provide a local resource where residents can see these “green” design in action.
